I was raised in a Christian family & accepted Christ as my Lord & Savior at a young age, thanks largely to the spiritual guidance of my parents. I attended church & was involved in youth groups growing up.
In college, I began to drift away from the Lord but kept going to church. Toward the end of my college experience, I attended a Greek Classic Campus Crusade for Christ Conference, got into a small group & discovered what a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is all about.
I was discipled, & began my new walk & understanding of what it meant for Him to be Lord of my life. I worked in Corporate America for seven years & served as a volunteer in my churches college ministry before taking my first short-term trip to Slovakia in 2001. While there, I received my calling to serve as a youth worker in Slovakia with Josiah Venture.
From 2003 – 2006, I lived in Presov, Slovakia where I developed a model youth ministry while serving alongside a JV national youth leader. I also pioneered English camps in Serbia where Eastern European youth participated in a cross-cultural missions experience.
From 2006 – 2009, I moved to the Czech Republic & served on the JV care team by caring, supporting & providing communication resources for our JV staff.
From 2010 – 2013, I returned to Slovakia to us my administrative skills to create a healthy living organization, pioneered a high school music outreach called, EXIT, throughout the country, & locally, worked with the Lutheran youth group, & taught conversational English. In the summer of 2013, I moved back to the States after serving overseas for 10 years. It was a time to rest, grief my father’s death and begin a new season of life without dad by helping mom.
In 2014, and for the next two years, I worked in Wheaton, IL, in our home-office, where I helped our organization continue to grow using my project management skills. I helped start up JV United Kingdom as a mobilizing organization within JV, recruited and mobilized others to serve alongside our teams, and was part of our care team, especially in caring for our single men.
In the fall of 2016, I relocated to Chattanooga to continue to serve in the same capacity, being part of the virtual care team to allow me to live closer to friends and family, develop new partnerships, and live in an area with a better cost of living.
To this end, I am honored to serve with Josiah Venture to help mobilize others from North America and the United Kingdom to become part of the movement of God in Central and Eastern Europe. To recruit university students to be interns, to coach new missionaries on how to raise support, to care for the single men within JV through contact and retreats, and to help manage various projects all to reach the 99% of young people who don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus.
Ever since I began my personal relationship with the Lord, life has been an amazing journey, not always perfect, with many stumbles & falls. Yet God always remains faithful, picks me back up, dusts the dirt off & keeps walking with me as I help build His kingdom.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” – Prov. 3:5-6
