What was your life like as an 18-year old?
At the end of this summer, an Estonian youth leader shared about an 18-year old, senior in high school named, Ragnar. He became a believer in Christ last year, & after his parents found out, they kicked him out of the house. Ragnar lives in Estonia, one of the most non-religious/atheistic nations in the world. He represents less then 1% of the 32.5 million young people who live in Central & Eastern Europe, who have a personal relationship with Jesus. And, like most, is a 1st generational Christian, living in a city where there are just a handful of churches, & no paid youth workers. However, each year, JV staff walk alongside churches to train, & equip their youth leaders & youth groups, so they can reach the other 99%. And, as we train them on evangelism & discipleship, we provide opportunities for them to apply what they’ve learned during the summer months inviting their friends to either an English, music &/or sports camp, with North American &/or British churches & university interns partnering with them.
We are in need of more short-term teams, & interns!
Today, we begin our JV Fall Recruitment where 30 JV staff serving in 8 countries, will visit over 25 university campuses, & several churches in the United States, & the United Kingdom for the next few weeks.
I am thankful for your partnership with my ministry with Josiah Venture, & would like to ask, will you…
…pray for our tour?
In Matt. 9:37-38, Jesus shared with his disciples that the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore, we must pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out more workers into his harvest. Pray that the Lord will draw students & churches to partner with our ministry.
Do you know any university student who’d be interested in serving as an intern this summer with JV? We are looking for students who speaks English, or is musical, or plays soccer, who loves the Lord, and enjoys working with youth. The dates are from May 29 – Aug. 11, with the cost being $4,800 (airfare included). If so, please have them apply for the Summer JV Internship.
Would your church like to partner with one of our 13 countries to do either an English, or music, or soccer camp? If so, please share our new Short-Term Video (media) with your pastor, or elders, youth leader &/or member of your churches mission’s team. A team can consist of 6 to 8 members, of youth, college students, young adults or anyone who loves working with youth in a camp setting that enjoys getting up at 7 am, being relational with students all day long, & head to bed around midnight. If so, please email me & be glad to connect them with one of our teams.
After Ragnar was thrown out of his house, a member of his local church brought him into his home, to care for, & disciple him. A few weeks ago, I found out that he met with his parents to work things out, & was welcomed home. Will you also pray for Ragnar & his parents?
I am praising God how the body of Christ works together to build His Kingdom – how university students & short-term teams come over working with local churches, & how the local churches care for & disciples the youth. It’s a win-win for both sides experiencing God, building His kingdom, & making disciples who make disciples.
Thank you for your partnership!
