I am very thankful for the support I receive through prayers, encouragement and financial investments given towards me and my ministry with Josiah Venture. As you know there are 32.5 Million young people in Central and Eastern Europe with less than 1% having a personal relationship with Christ, and that 1% is more than likely a 1st Generation Christian.
Our mission is to equip the 1% of young leaders to fulfill Christ’s commission through the local church. We train youth groups through the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. In the gospels, we see this process of disciple making modeled in the way Christ challenged His followers to move from unbelief to a spiritual maturity. Our disciple making training can be summed up in five basic challenges from the ministry of Christ – how Jesus discipled His disciples who made disciples.
To provide a picture of this training and the ministry you’ve been a part of over the years, I’d like to share Adam’s story through the context of Christ strategy.
When I met Adam, he was 13. He loved sports, photography, bike riding, and came from a town of 90,000 people with only 3 Evangelical churches and no full-time paid youth workers. Trying to compare this to your local context, makes it hard to grasp, and shows the dire need for our ministry.
Five Basic Challenges
1. Expose…“come and see” (John 1:35-42)
Adam was exposed to Christianity going to church and attending his confirmation class
2. Evangelize…“repent and believe” (Mark 1:15)
And during that timeframe, Adam heard the gospel, and made a decision to follow Christ.
3. Build…“follow me” (John 1:43)
Soon after that, Adam joined my small group, the Iron Men, where iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. He was discipled, learned how to study, pray, and grew in his relationship with Jesus.
4. Equip… “I will make you fishers of men” (Luke 5:1-11)
Eventually, Adam joined our youth leadership team were he too was trained to do evangelistic outreaches like our English camps to reach his classmates, friends and neighbors for Christ.
5. Send…“I am sending you.” (John 20:21)
This year Adam graduated from high school, and is now the volunteer youth leader leading his churches college ministry team.
Tomorrow is his 20th Birthday! Happy Birthday Adam!
I am proud of the man Adam has become and am encouraged to see him grow as he serves his local church and loves on his family and friends. This is a process that takes energy and time, yet is fruitful and worthy to the calling God has placed on our hearts within Josiah Venture.
To this end, I am honored to serve with Josiah Venture to now help mobilize others from North America and the United Kingdom to become part of the movement of God in Central and Eastern Europe. To recruit university students to be interns, to coach new missionaries on how to raise support, to care for the single men within JV through contact and retreats, and to help manage various projects all to reach the 99% of young people who don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus.
However, I can’t do this alone and need your help. As you know, I need to be fully supported in order to be part of Josiah Venture. Prayers and encouragement spur me on, but for me to continue, I need to be 100% fully funded. I’ve worked on my budget, and have moved to an area with a better cost of living. Yet, I’ve had a few setbacks with supporters altering their giving allowing me to ask you to partner with me. I need to raise $1000/monthly to be fully funded.
Would you consider partnering with me to mobilize others to disciple more “Adams” located in Central and Eastern Europe? If you’d like to give monthly, or a one-time amount, or an end-of-the year gift, please give to Help Mike Be 100%!
If you have any questions, please let me know. And, thank you for your consideration. May you and your family have a blessed Christmas!
