Objects in mirror are closer than they appear

“You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” – Luke 12:40

Ever dealt with three burdens or trials all in the same day, and wonder what that was all about? A few weeks ago, I got hit with three trials, that all came in around the same period of an hour. Initially, it was tough. It was like the walls around me were crashing in, and the weight on my shoulders, were pushing me down.

After prayer and seeking the Lord, the message I took from this experience was “keep focusing on Christ, even through the hard times.” In all my years serving overseas, I never experienced this kind of trial, and know it will not be the last.

Oswald Chambers said it best, “a Christian worker’s greatest need is a readiness to face Jesus Christ at any and every turn…” and, “the only way a servant can remain true to God is to be ready for the Lord’s surprise visits.”

It’s true! We need to be ready. And, as we prepare to celebrate Easter, my prayer for you and me, is that our eyes of our hearts will be enlightened on the past, future, and present truths found in Eph. 1:15-23:

Past Truth (v.18)…that our Hope is in a resurrected Christ!
Future Truth (v.18)…that we are His! When we die, we have a glorious, rich inheritance – eternal life with God.
Present Truth (v.19-20)…that we are weak, but God in us, we are strong! We have the power of God, who is able to do the impossible, which we saw Him do with His son, on the cross!

I am thankful that you are standing with me as we serve together with Josiah Venture. May we be ready at any given time, focused on Christ, meditating on these truths daily.

Have a blessed Easter, celebrating the Risen King!
