Missionary Myth Busters

Missionary life isn’t always what you expect it to be. In fact, I’ve discovered some misperceptions that keep you & I from having a clear understanding of the needs & challenges missionaries face.

Each week, I plan to debunk some of those myths & invite you to invest in my ministry through your prayers, encouragement, &/or investments.

Myth #2

Europe is a desirable destination in which to serve. It’s easy to recruit people to serve on a European trip.

Too often we presume someone else will go or give, when in reality, the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few.

I’m privileged to support operations between our North American offices & our laborers in the field. These operations are critical because they enable our missionaries to share the Gospel & disciple young leaders. We prepare interns & send teams to serve alongside our missionaries, & we help our national missionaries develop ministry partners who invest in them financially & prayerfully.

“We have been praying for more workers to join us in Latvia, and now are preparing for several new teammates to join us. We are thankful to have someone like Mike on the other side of the ocean that is caring and shepherding them through the process. Mike does this in such a wonderful way, having knowledge of what life is like in Europe and a vision for what their service means to us and the Kingdom. We are so glad to have him as our teammate on that side of the ocean!” – Kelly & Donna Hargan, Latvia Country Leaders
